March 9, 2006 Virginia Woolf delivers her first novel
Thirty-one-year-old writer Virginia Woolf delivers the manuscript of 'The Voyage Out' to her publisher on this date in 1913. It was also the 21st birthday of Vita Sackville-West, the inspiration for Woolf's novel 'Orlando'. Woolf did not met Sackville-West until 1925, the same year Woolf published 'Mrs. Dalloway'.

March 8, 1859 Kenneth Grahame, author of 'The Wind in the Willows' was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. Somehow I missed reading this delightful book as a child. I am sure we have copies in stock, they just aren't on the web site yet. Please inquire.
